누구나 한 번쯤 들어봤을 감미로운 노래

 

해, 달, 별, 바람, 물, 불, 땅...

피조물을 통해 하느님께 드리는 찬미 송가

 

아시시 프란치스코 성인의 “태양의 찬가(Fratello Sole)”

 

프란치스코는 십 대 때 말라리아로 쓰러진 이후 열병, 메스꺼움, 두통을 평생 안고 살았다.

청빈한 삶을 살았던 그는 빈혈과 위궤양에 시달렸다.

 

“태양의 찬가”를 만들던 당시 중동에서 얻은 눈병 때문에 거의 실명 상태였다.

 

한낮의 태양 빛은 그에게 극심한 고통을 유발했고, 밤에는 쥐들의 소란함 때문에 잠들기조차 힘들었다.

 

알베르나산에서 받은 오상 때문에 제대로 걷기도 힘들었고, 죽음이 임박했음을 알았다.

 

극심한 고통과 죽음을 마주하며 만들어진 노래

이 노래에 담긴 진짜 의미

 

“그 어떤 상황에서도 오직 주님만을 바라봐야 한다!”

“모든 피조물은 하느님에게서 나왔기에 우리는 모두 형제자매다!”

“서로 아끼고 사랑하며 함께 하느님을 찬양해야 한다!”

 

자원독점, 환경오염, 핵 개발 등 피조물의 생존이 위협받는 현대사회

 

“태양의 찬가”는 하느님께서 창조하신 피조물을 보존하라는 준엄한 명령이다.

 

“태양을 만드신 주님께서는 위대하시고 그분의 명령에 따라 태양은 제 궤도를 바삐 돈다.” (집회 43,5)

 

“너희는 온 세상에 가서 모든 피조물에게 복음을 선포하여라.” (마르 16,15)

A sweet song that everyone has heard at least once.

 

Sun, moon, stars, wind, water, fire, earth... Hymns to God through the creation.

 

“Fratello Sole” by Saint Francis of Assisi

 

After succumbing to malaria as a teenager, Francis suffered a lifelong fever, nausea, and headache.

 

He lived a poor life and suffered from anemia and stomach ulcers.

 

At the time he was writing “Fratello Sole” he was almost blind from an eye disease he had acquired in the Middle East.

 

The midday sun caused him extreme pain, and at night he couldn't even sleep because of the noise of the rats.

 

The stigma he had received at Alberta had made it difficult for him to walk properly, and he knew his death was imminent.

 

A song made in the face of extreme pain and death

“Fratello Sole”

 

The real meaning of this song.

 

“In any situation, we must look only to the Lord!”

“All creation is of God, so we are all brothers and sisters!”

“Let us cherish and love one another and praise God together!”

 

A modern society in which the survival of creatures is threatened, such as resource monopoly, environmental pollution, and nuclear development.

 

“Fratello Sole” is a solemn command to preserve God's creation.

 

“Great indeed is the LORD who made it, at whose orders it urges on its steeds.” (Sirach 43,5)

 

“Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16,15)
